15,000 participants converged in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, November 5, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Athletes representing all 50 states and 12 countries around the world converged on Indianapolis this morning for the 15the annual CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon, Half Marathon and 5K.

Today’s event marked the 10e consecutive sellouts of one of the most dynamic and popular marathons in the country. More than 50,000 spectators filled the streets of Indianapolis to encourage participants seeking personal bests and qualifying times for the Boston Marathon. Despite today’s less than ideal conditions, there were plenty of fast performances, including a new course record for the women’s half marathon. by Lauren Hurley time of 1:09:49 establishes her as the fastest female half-marathoner in the event’s 15-year history, surpassing last year’s record of 1:10:43.

Plans are already underway for next year’s event, scheduled for Saturday, October 28, 2023. This will be the first time the event takes place in October. Registrations will open on January 1, 2023with a special Monumental Resolution rate.
